A leaking shower can be messy, inconvenient, and above all, costly. While there are plenty of people who can promise you a fix, these may involve using ineffective sealants, and the removal and replacement of tiles. That means a significant amount of time, money and effort is involved. SmartSealed, however, is a company with more than 20 years of experience in fixing showers quickly, effectively and at the best price possible. Like to know at little more about SmartSealed, and why it works?
The SmartSealed solution
SmartSealed has a simple and effective solution to leaking showers. The SmartSealed sealant is specially formulated to be absorbed into the areas between shower walls, and floor tiles, at up to 9mm. Tiles don’t need to be removed, and the sealant stops leaks, and leaves no film behind – a common problem with many shower fixes. The sealant is also mould-resistant, ensuring no ugly black marks in or around the shower in years to come.
SmartSealed is the ideal option if you want your bathroom to be leak-free, and look as beautiful as it did when it was first installed. And to help keep your bathroom looking immaculate, SmartSealed offers SmartScreen, a revolutionary treatment for your glass. It’s a permanent, non-stick coating that repels water and oil. That means no more scrubbing at soap scum with harsh chemicals. In fact, cleaning is quick and easy (almost unheard of for bathrooms!).
Is a leaking shower really that much of a problem?
A leaking shower can be messy, or it can be that much of the leak is hidden behind tiles. Don’t be fooled, however, into thinking that what you can’t see is not doing damage. Leaks can lead to mould and mildew, and above all, the waste of a lot of money. That’s bad news for both you and the environment. According to Sydney Water, leaks can account for up to 15% of your water bill. That can add up dramatically, especially if a leak is left untreated for months or longer. Bear in mind, too, that mould is not only unsightly – as noted by the WA Department of Health, it also poses a risk to your long-term health.
What’s involved in the treatment?
When you book in for an appointment, SmartSealed will ask that you ensure the shower is clean, dry, and has not been used for 24 hours. One of the experienced and fully trained service technicians will assess the shower, and use a special water detector to ascertain where the leak is, and how bad the leak is. They will remove all current sealants where required, and use a diamond tip grinder to remove the grout from between floor and wall joints. They will seal tap flanges, and apply SmartSealed in and around your shower leak, right up to the level of the showerhead. The process generally takes one to two hours.
Great service that’s guaranteed
While the shower sealant is SmartSealed’s core service, it’s certainly not the only one. They aim to create a full-service solution for home leaks, from baths and vanities, to kitchens and balconies. All without the need to remove tiles.
SmartSealed is so confident in their products and service, they also offer a written, 12-year product warranty.
